the cut cloth is the culmination of a lifelong love of good design and all things beautiful for its three founders Diana Hartigan, Amanda Ottaviano and Janet Ottaviano (who are also mother, daughter and sister-in-law). Our diverse backgrounds and skills seemed a perfect match and so the cut cloth was born:
Diana was an executive assistant during the daylight hours, but after hours she blossomed into an expert in all things stitched. Amanda, in between stitching up deals in the corporate finance world, dreamed of using her skills for more creative endeavours. Janet, a compulsive graphic designer and illustrator, seized the opportunity to extend her designs into textiles.
We are unified by our love of exquisite fabrics, with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality rarely seen in these mass-produced times. At the cut cloth it's all about the cloth! We create homewares and accessories which showcase fabrics with bold organic and geometric prints - with a primary emphasis on the use of strong colour. Our product range includes cushions, door stops, bags, belts, headbands and hats.
Our current range features our own exclusive in-house designed hand screen-printed fabrics, as well as other fabrics we have sourced from around the world. Our own range of fabrics, named "Summer Picnic", was released in December 2007 and features the designs Ella, Lily, Pod, Curly and Daisy.
Our philosophy is simply to produce lovely things. We hope you like them.
